Have you ever been to LaCaille? You know, that little French restaurant that’s hidden near the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon? Before this shoot, I had been there 3 times. Once for a wedding reception in the middle of winter in like, 2005… and I have to say that I don’t remember a thing about it. Next for a staff meeting lunch in 2014 (back when I had a day job), and the food did not impress me.
Don’t ask me what I had, because I haven’t got a clue. Seriously, expensive fancy food is lost on me. I have the palate of a 6 year old and prefer cheese pizza and quesadillas over most other options. And the last time was for the Utah Bride & Groom White Party last spring. I dressed in white, I went alone, ate some great food and ended up having a lot of fun being surrounded by wedding industry peeps.
So then there was this shoot. 30 degrees and leftover snow (because all of the snow would be coming the next day) and a bride and groom who were newlyweds 5 years ago. It was pretty. It was really, really pretty. And now I can’t wait for the chance to get back to LaCaille again. Let’s get to it, shall we?
