You know how some times you meet people and think, “Oh, we’re going to get along JUST FINE together”? That’s how it was when I met Lauren and Zach. Goofy and fun and smiling. And sunburned. (Zach had driven down from Idaho the morning of their engagement session and drove with the top down on his car.) They are my kind of people. And when I say that, what I usually mean is that they think I’m funny… that’s all I need out of anyone. You just need to like me and think I’m funny.
We met for their engagement session at the State Capitol in downtown Salt Lake City. The sun was high in the sky and BRIGHT, so we tried to find all the shade that we could. Shade is easily found on the east side of the Capitol building and also on the paths that take you down the hill into Memory Grove. Lots of trees and lots of green, which is perfect for any late spring engagement session. Because who doesn’t love green?
Lauren and Zach met through Bumble – which is an app similar to Tindr – they started talking and Lauren says they were both a little smitten with each other right off the bat. Zach invited her over to his house on a Friday morning, made her breakfast and they spent the whole day together. And they have been together ever since.
Lauren says, “He proposed at the Brigham City Temple. He had just gone back up to school at BYU-I for the semester two days before and my friend asked me if I would take some pictures with her and her boyfriend before he left for the summer to do summer sales. So I’m just taking pictures of them and all of a sudden Zach walks out with flowers and gets down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was super surprised since he was supposed to be in Idaho haha.”
They are planning an August wedding at the Salt Lake Temple and I will tell you right now that it is going to be a beautiful wedding filled with lots of smiles and laughter!
